Getting Here

Broadstairs is located on the east Kent coast and is easily accessible from the main road network.

Directions by car:

  • From London follow the A299 Thanet Way
  • From Canterbury follow the A28
  • From Sandwich/Dover follow the A256 

Broadstairs is well signposted from all of the above major routes. Please note many satnavs will take you through Westwood Cross  shopping area which can be busy at peak times and weekends. An alternative route can be found through the town of Ramsgate, which is also well signposted.

Should you need a postcode for your satnav please use our Town Council postcode which will take you to the main High Street of the town, CT10 1JX. Directions to the beaches can be found on the www.visitthanet.co.uk website. 

By train:

Broadstairs is lucky to be located on the main HS1 train line, journey times from London start at 1hr 22 minutes. The town is also well connected to other major towns in the area by direct train link.

By bus: 

Thanet has a very good and frequent bus services. Broadstairs is located on the Stagecoach Loop service which runs a continual service linking the Thanet towns, buses run up to every 10 minutes throughout the day.

Open Top Bus Tours:

Route 69 is a seasonal open top bus that usually runs from March to September. This bus is currently not in service. This page will be updated with a latest time table when it is available.

The route extends from Ramsgate Boating Pool to Broadstairs Stone Bay. Full details can be found at – Visit Thanet Open Top bus Information

Operating dates for 2022:

Easter Weekend (15th-18th April), then every Weekend until 22nd May
Daily from 28th May – 5th June, then every Weekend until 17th July
Daily from 23rd July to 31st August, then every Weekend until 25th September 

Parking

The majority of carparks in Broadstairs and St.Peter’s are managed by Thanet District and full details can be found on the Thanet District Council website .

It should be noted that St Peter’s Park Road car park is free on Saturday’s and can be found behind Broadstairs Train Station. Parking bays on Broadstairs High Street are also free after 6pm.

Our Beaches

There are 7 bays and beaches in Broadstairs and St.Peter’s which form part of a wider network of 14 bays and beaches in the Thanet area.

In the summer months our beaches are very popular, we suggest avoiding busy periods to reduce crowding.
